July 6, 2010 | Side chat x RP with Vexen DeVine

All times local to New Zealand.

VEXIE, 9:57:43 a.m.

*poke*

SIGYN, 10:27:19 a.m.

Hiya

I just returned from the bath. Usually I answer these as soon as I get them, but mostly I've been asleep and you've been offline.

VEXIE, 10:31:02 a.m.

it's okay... I also need my sleep too.

😆

so how’s it going?

SIGYN

Well... I'm glad my ex-girlfriend is talking to me again, but I kinda wish I didn't have to hear so much about her boyfriend. It's starting to drive me up the wall 😆 Other than that, school's stressful but awesome in a way and I'm creating a chart from the web of lies my ex-cowriter told me.

VEXIE

awww

*pets*

SIGYN

*is petted*

VEXIE

😊

SIGYN

Also, I found out I gained ten pounds after coming back from Europe, seven of which I've lost. My weight is still unhealthy, but I don't care what the numbers say as long as I can fit into my pants.

VEXIE

*hugs*

Ugh I hate weight.

SIGYN

*hugs* I just hate the fact that the more weight I gain, since half of it goes to my chest, the harder it is to cosplay

VEXIE

awww

*hugs*

SIGYN

T_T I'm already up to a 40D, and that makes me sad. I used to be... 36C.

VEXIE

*pets*

SIGYN

The other half goes to my hips and posterior, which is fine if I'm playing Vexen, but most of the time I prefer to play Marluxia, which means I have to bind my chest and stomach area and wear loose-fitting stuffs

VEXIE

poor darling

*hugs*

SIGYN

Awww. *hugs back*

Ish okay. I have to wait till I get a pink wig anyway since I changed my hair.

VEXIE

Mmm I could never dye my hair.

SIGYN

I dyed mine pink and it lasted for a few weeks... then I went to Europe, and the only pink the salon in Germany had was Jeffree Star pink... so I got extensions instead and got my hair dyed back to its natural colour. Now it's dark brown with pink streaks.

I look like Xigbar and Marluxia's love child.

Oooo, nice nature pics

VEXIE

hm what pics?

SIGYN

The ones on DA

I haven't checked my messages in QUITE awhile.

VEXIE

and that image of the pair is disturbing.

😦

I just uploaded them today and last night.

SIGYN

It is, but that is what I look like. Only... heavier 😆

Ah, well, they look nice. I'm not commenting on much because I'm going through all my messages really quickly.

VEXIE

that’s what I do really.

gosh I'm bored.

SIGYN

I'm turning all the LIES! between my former cowriter and me, plus her god-modding of my characters, plus her inserting her characters into my homeland and vice versa, all the conversations, I'm turning into a screenplay. And I'm recruiting editors.

VEXIE

oh okays.

SIGYN

So far they're creating characters to be Commentary and make snide comments whenever someone says or does something stupid, which is pretty much all the time. Ish a parody. You interested?

VEXIE

I'll pass.

SIGYN

'kay

VEXIE

I just like normal roleplays.

SIGYN

I wasn't even aware that it was role playing until a year later T_T

Ever played word association?

VEXIE

*shakes head*

SIGYN

I used to annoy my classmates with it all the time. It's when Alice says a word, then Bob says the first word that comes to mind, then Alice says the first word/phrase/quote (it's very loose) that comes to mind after that .The rule is basically that you can't repeat anything. If Bob says "fire" than Alice can't say "fire" again unless she adds to it, like "firetruck" or somesuch

VEXIE

Oh

I'm really bored.

and I want to take my mind off things.

;~;

EVRYN

Well, you could TRY not shooting down every suggestion your new friend makes. Just a thought, you know.

11:03 a.m.

SIGYN

*hugs* How can I help?

VEXIE

*nuzzles*

do you do normal roleplays?

SIGYN

Yes, I do.

Well, I'm still getting the hang of them.

VEXIE

could we do one?

and I honestly don't mind.

SIGYN

Okay

Just to warn you, I'm really bad at it, so you'll most likely have to guide me through it.

VEXIE

Tis fine

whom would you prefer, Marluxia or Vexen?

SIGYN

Marluxia

I tend to make him somewhat out of character, but... eh, let's try it anyway.

VEXIE

it's okay.

what kind of story line?

SIGYN

Um... well, once I did one where Marluxia and Vexen first met and mistook each other for women

VEXIE

Oh that sounds fun.

😆

sounds like what Vexen is doing to Marluxia in this story I'm writing.

SIGYN

Mehehe. Okay.... [scene]?

(Which one of us is starting?)

VEXIE

Hmm are the high school students, uni students that hang out at a cafe, but not together or adults?

I can start if you want.

SIGYN

I was thinking when Marluxia first joined the Org., actually...

but we can do AU if you want.

VEXIE

I like AU... the no hearts thing can get annoying ;~;

SIGYN

Kay, you start and I'll follow along.

VEXIE

so which of the three ages do you want?

SIGYN

I has an idea.

What if Marluxia moves to a new city where he knows no one, and Vexen sort of takes him under his wing? That would make Vexen a well-established, and easily older, member of the community

(even if he is an insane scientist 😛)

VEXIE

They live in the same apartment building on the same floor and are next door to each other... and well yeah with your idea.

😆

SIGYN

Yeah! And Marluxia's a young, partly jaded and partly idealistic man in his early to mid-twenties, fresh out of college

Or grad school

Actually, I don't think being both jaded and idealistic would work...

VEXIE

and Vexen works in the local cafe to pay of his college fees.

SIGYN

How old is Vexen?

VEXIE

twenty-four to twenty-six

8D

Young Vexen is sexy.

<3

Marluxia = seme?

SIGYN

True. Usually when I do something with Vexen and Marluxia, Vexen tends to be in his late 30s or early 40s... with Vexen at that age, I'm tempted to make Marluxia a high school student who's taking college courses

VEXIE

mmm fine a bit older

twenty-nine

SIGYN

Hmm.... not sure about the seme. With his personality, it does work. And Vexen could be a total virgin.

VEXIE

I love virgin Vexen.

<3

SIGYN

Okay. Marluxia's 21, then.

VEXIE

sweet

and Vexen works in the café, pretty much next to the apartment they live in

8D

SIGYN

Caught that, yes 😀 Marlu owns a flower shop a few blocks up the road from the café

He got it at a good price because the previous owner died a mysterious death 😆

VEXIE

XDDD

I was thinking Vexen's boss could be Xemnas... ( do you like Xemnas? )

SIGYN

I'm indifferent to Xemnas and that totally works.

VEXIE

so Marluxia just moved into the city and brought a flower shop not far from his new home and Vexen lives in the room next to Marluxia's? and Vexen works in the café next to the apartment

😆

SIGYN

Xemnas should have a pet bloodhound-Saïx 😛

Indeed

VEXIE

I call Xemnas either Sex Man, Manfucks or Mansex

😆

SIGYN

My exxie calls him Sexman. Manfux works 😛

T/N: This RP was transcribed to Fanfiction .net as “Deadly Lust, Perfect Trust,” changing from a Kingdom Hearts RP to a Twilight one.

VEXIE

I shall start.

Vexen was working late in the cafe as usual, if it meant he was able to get a bit extra he would, otherwise no. But this late afternoon it was different, it was raining heavily outside and he noticed quite a lot of new faces coming into the already busy cafe. Vexen had earned a nickname from his boss and co-workers whom he'd kill if he ever go the chance.

"Ol' Frosty!" One just called out, wanting Vexen's attention. He frowned and went over to help the annoying man, "Yes Xigbar? Or should I remind pedo." He spat.

VEXIE

( you can work with that? )

Marluxia was just closing up shop and getting ready to head home. It had been a long day, even by his standards, and he couldn't wait to take a long, hot bath. That was, if he could even muster the energy to walk all the way home... He'd never gone in for automobiles, preferring the certainty of his own two feet and how it was more environmentally sound, besides.

'There's a coffee shop on the way home,' he remembered. 'Maybe I can get something nice and warm to drink and perk myself up?' The thought cheered him somewhat, and he headed with a bit of renewed energy to the coffee shop.

VEXIE

( He does realize it's raining? 😆 )

SIGYN

(Indeed, but he's scatter-brained and forgot his umbrella)

Vexen sighed a little whacked Xigbar for wasting his time and went around the tables collecting up dishes and what not. He took them back into the kitchen and took his place back behind the counter. "Hi thar Vixen, nice weather we're having, did you bring the lovely weather to town?" Xigbar mocked. Vexen frowned and pushed Xigbar none too lightly in the arm. "Shut up, skunk face." He growled, frowning at the other man.

VEXIE

( so Marluxia will think Vexen is a women? )

SIGYN

(Indeed)

VEXIE

( 😆 )

Not two steps out of the shop and Marluxia realised that it was raining. It wasn't so much that he minded getting wet, but the torrent seemed to weigh him down. 'I'd better go back for my umbrella,' he thought. It didn't take him long to fish his key out of his pocket and turn the lock. He rescued his umbrella and was on his way again. He pressed the lever, watching with childlike glee as the pink monstrosity unfolded to protect its owner from the rain. He reached the coffee shop in short order. 'It's still open,' he noticed. 'Surprising.' He walked inside, shaking the rain off his umbrella before closing it... and stopped in his tracks when he noticed the beautiful blonde woman behind the counter.

"Oh my god, sexy women alert, and she’s a foxy one at that too~" Xigbar chimed in Vexen's ear. The blonde pushed Xigbar away with a frown. "Go do your own job of scrubbing the tables." Vexen frowned, getting annoyed with the man and his constant irritating remarks,

Marluxia regained his composure slowly as he noticed the dark-haired man whispering in the blonde's ear. He frowned slightly. 'Don't tell me this gorgeous creature already has a boyfriend?' he thought with some disappointment. He had half a mind to turn around and leave, but then remembered that he was cold and tired and wanted something to drink. Approaching the counter, he scanned the menu for chai tea, one of his favourite beverages.

"One moment, I need to deal with a forever going issue." Vexen said politely to pink haired 'women' standing in front of him. "Xigbar I swear I will ring your neck if you don't go away, or I will tell the manager!" Vexen threated in a hush voice, although it was loud enough for the costumer to hear. "Ohhh scary Vixen, don't hurt me Vixen... oh gods, don't tell Sex Man on me." He whined pathetically and disappeared into the kitchen. "I'm sorry about him, he's as useless as a concrete poll, was that one chai tea?" Vexen asked softly.

Marluxia's sapphire eyes widened. He hadn't spoken aloud. 'Not only gorgeous, she's a mind-reader too?' he thought. "That would be lovely, thank you," he murmured, his voice slightly higher than usual from nerves. While he was wondering at things, what were those strange names they'd called each other? Vixen? Sex-man? Zig-bar? Were these code names of some kind? "Then... that man... is not your boyfriend?" he asked boldly, flushing.

12:04 p.m.

"You've got to be joking, he's a disgusting paedophile." Vexen made a disgusted face and went to make the women's chai tea. The blonde felt like taking a break and this would be the right person to take it with.

"I'm certain I would be joking if I'd been in town long enough to get to know him," called Marluxia, slightly miffed. "I've only been here for about a week."

Vexen nodded, it was a couple minutes before he had the woman’s chai tea ready, "Three eighty please." Vexen said quietly, and gestured to a younger boy named Roxas to take his shift as Vexen wanted a break. "You sure you can manage the till if I take a break." Only to receive a nod in return. "You don't mind if I join you?" He asked the women softly.

"Not at all," said Marluxia generously, forking over the cash. "Keep the change," he told the young boy, wanting to make a good impression on the foxy "Vixen."

Vexen nodded, but put it into a charity box and he decided that the table in the corner next to the window was perfect.

VEXIE

( They have a thing about putting the change in the charity box.. well Vexen and Roxas do )

Marluxia followed the blonde to the table, where he took off his long black trench coat and hung it on the back of the chair, along with his hot pink mess of an umbrella. He perched delicately on the seat and crossed his legs, sipping his tea while gazing at the tall, gorgeous creature before him.

"You said you just moved here?" Vexen asked, resting one leg over the other, studying the women's features secretly.

"I did," Marluxia replied. "Directly from college back in... it doesn't matter. How long have you lived here?"

"In the town for a while, in my apartment.... a couple of years."

Marluxia nodded thoughtfully. An introduction seemed appropriate now. "My name is Marluxia Nectarson," he stated, with some small amount of pride. "Of the Bel Aire Nectarsons. We... well, we raise flowers. What's your name?"

Vexen smiled some. "A florist I see, I'm guessing you studied botany?" He asked. "My name is Vexen DeVine." He replied, although it wasn't as proud as Marluxia's, he could see quite a bit of potential in her.

Marluxia had to work not to wrinkle his nose. "No, science has never been interesting to me," he said flatly. "I studied counselling and personal development."

Vexen nodded some, "Hmm my Major is in science, although how I got into a coffee shop I have no clue." The blonde replied, closing his eyes.

Marluxia smiled a bit dreamily, enjoying the strange lilt in Vexen's voice. "Have to pay the bills somehow," he said. "I own the flower shop up the road from here. I got a rather good bargain on it, come to think of it. Which science are you majoring in?"

"Hmm, Chemistry, Biology and I took Botany as an extra." Vexen replied. "Hmm very true, although I got a scholarship for one year." He replied, "But that was a while ago." Vexen added.

An academic scholarship? Marluxia's eyebrows raised; he was undeniably impressed. "Brains and beauty," he murmured, half to himself. Then, in a normal tone, "And how long has... the older man been working here? The one whom I mistook for your boyfriend?"

"Xigbar? Quite some time, but like I said, he's as useless as a concrete poll." Vexen replied and wrinkled his nose at the thought of having someone disgusting as Xigbar as his boyfriend, he couldn't help but admit that the women in front of him was a very curious thing.

Marluxia laughed. He liked this Vexen; she was sassy. "The owner must like him for some reason if he's been working here for so long. Though I must say, you're a lot easier on the eyes."

"They're friends that’s why, and Xemnas is waiting for Xigbar to screw up once more and he's fired." Vexen replied and blushed some, he wasn't used to compliments.

Xemnas? Was that the "sex man" of whom Xigbar had spoken earlier? Marluxia frowned slightly, rearranging the letters in his head--oh. Yes, that definitely worked. He laughed aloud. Xigbar may be basically useless, at least if Marluxia were to believe Vexen, but he had to admire the man's sense of humour. Noticing Vexen's blush, Marluxia's smile grew. She was so adorable. Probably a little older...

...Smarter, certainly. 'Hmm...' he thought, calculating his chances. Just as he was reaching a definite conclusion, his cell phone rang, blasting Jeffree Star's "Bitch Please.". Now it was Marluxia's turn to blush. "Damn it," he cursed, taking the phone out of his pocket and looking at the caller ID. "She reprogrammed my ring tone again!" Flipping the phone open, he snapped "Fuck off, Larxene."

"I am so sorry about that," he said, face redder than before. "My roommate keeps reprogramming my ring tone. She apparently wants the whole world to think I'm gay."

Vexen looked up at the clock. "Geez I might as well end my shift now, todays been such a long day." The blonde groaned a little and closed his eyes, he'd noticed that Marluxia was grinning, noting that she was happy that she'd made a man blush was the most likely answer. "Poor thing, Xigbar does that to me all the time."

"Programs your ring tone?" Marluxia was slightly confused.

"Nope, tells the whole world I'm gay and nerdy." Vexen shook his head. "Honestly he's a pest, thank goodness he's not in the same apartment building as me."

VEXIE

( so who finds out who's a boy first? )

SIGYN

(Not sure yet)

Marluxia smiled, slightly cheered. The smile faded quickly as his phone started "singing" again. Annoyed, Marluxia quickly flipped it open and then closed again. "For the record, I don't think there's anything wrong with being gay. He's probably just upset that you won’t' go out with him. I know that's the case with my roommate. Which apartment do you live in?" he asked.

VEXIE

( I'm thinking Vexen could be bi... and Xigbar knows Marluxia's a guy 8DDD )

SIGYN

(I was thinking perhaps a humorous simultaneous YOU THOUGHT I WAS A WOMAN?!

(Wait a minute... you're a DUDE? (YES! (OH MY GOD!

VEXIE

( Marluxia could sneak into Vexen's room and can hear his 'girlfriend' is having a shower and decides to join 😆 )

"He's got a boyfriend, he just likes to annoy me because he loves having me react, although he doesn't know how I'll react, I just live in the one next to cafe here." Vexen replied, closing his eyes.

SIGYN

(Perhaps... let's see how it pans out)

VEXIE

( Vexen will be bi but doesn't tell Xigbar of course )

SIGYN

(Cakey)

"Do you have a boyfriend?" asked Marluxia candidly. He couldn't help himself-- if this beautiful vixen was already taken, he might as well know now. His phone chose that moment to ring again. "Hold that thought," he said, answering the phone: "For the last time, I am not going to get you tampons. There's a twenty on the bureau-- get them yourself!" Highly embarrassed, Marluxia flipped his phone closed and attempted to look Vexen in the eye. "You were saying?"

Vexen blushed some but shook his head. "No I don't." Vexen replied, watching Marluxia carefully.

1:00 p.m.

"She calls me every month at the most inconvenient time possible. It could be one of two things, and I'm going with the lesser of two evils; I really don't need to be set up with one of her friends. Though of course, I'm surprised that she even has friends," Marluxia babbled, feeling that he should explain himself.

Vexen nodded fair enough. "So where do you live, if you don't mind me asking?"

"This building," said Marluxia, pointing to the apartment. "Fourth floor, room C."

"I’m room D, same floor, how strange." Vexen replied and looked at the women in front of him.

"We're neighbours." Marluxia could have impaled himself on his umbrella for such an obvious statement, but he was too dumbstruck to think of much else to say. "Let's walk home together, then."

"Sounds good, although I get the feeling tomorrow afternoon Xigbar will make some terrible jokes." Vexen sighed and looked at the other.

Marluxia shook his head. "I don't care what he thinks." He stood and picked his umbrella up from the back of his chair, then lay it on the table for a moment while he put his trench coat back on. "Do you have an umbrella of your own, or should I share?" he asked with uncharacteristic concern.

"I have a jacket with a hood on it, won't be a moment." Vexen went to collect his jacket and went to collect his days’ pay, before returning to the lovely women.

Marluxia was surprised to note that Vexen's jacket had a similar style to his own; his had a removable hood, which he'd taken off to show off his lustrous pink hair. His hair was that colour due to a strange genetic mutation, of which he was quite proud. "Shall we?" he asked Vexen, offering his hand.

Vexen blushed and smiled a little, taking the pinkette's hand in his own.

Marluxia walked at a slower pace than he normally would, enjoying the blonde's company. He knew that once he stepped foot in his apartment door, he'd catch hell from his roommate, but it was completely worth it for these few moments. "What's your life's dream?" he asked randomly. "It can't possibly be working in a coffee shop, not with a degree in science."

"I don't know, whatever kind of job I can get, probably studying plants or weather patterns, both highly paid jobs." Vexen replied and started off towards the elevator.

Marluxia smiled affectionately, finding this focus on money strangely endearing. He let go of Vexen's hand and went for the stairs. "I'll race you," he challenged.

Vexen blushed and rolled his eyes, but nodded. "If you insist." Vexen got into the elevator and pressed the button for level four.

Challenge accepted. Perfect. Marluxia wasted no time in running up the spiral staircase, picking up the hem of his trench coat so it wouldn't trip him. He'd never beat this elevator yet, but then, it had been awhile since anyone had accepted his challenge to try

Vexen had reached the right floor and walked over to his door to his room, he leaned against the door and waited for the pinkette.

Panting and flushed after running up four flights of twisting stairs, it took Marluxia at least another two minutes to reach the spot where Vexen was waiting. He'd taken his cloak off and was carrying it on his arm, using the umbrella as a cane. "When... did you... get here?" he panted.

"A couple minutes back." Vexen said softly. "Do you want to come in for a drink?" He asked softly, resting his hand on the tired Marluxia's shoulder.

Marluxia gave a weak, though grateful, smile. "That would be nice," he said. "I don't feel up to facing Larxene at the moment." He leaned into Vexen's slim body, enjoying the green apple and chemical-lemon smell she seemed to emit.

SIGYN

(Basically, Lysol and dish-washing soap)

VEXIE

( XDDD )

Vexen patted Marluxia's shoulder some and unlocked his door. The blonde had a nice creamy white, and very on the inside modern apartment. "I hope it's alright." Vexen said softly.

Marluxia gazed appreciatively at the interior decor. For a scientist working in a coffee shop, this blonde had undeniable style. "It's nice," he said. "My father was an interior decorator. I think he would have approved."

"It's just something I did with the spare of my money from the coffee shop, I did do some apprenticeship during my college days too." Vexen added with a weak smile. "Coffee or tea?"

'Hmm,' thought Marluxia. 'I think I may have misinterpreted her offer of a "drink." ' "Tea will be fine," he sighed. 'I'll just have to go out and get some amaretto tomorrow before work,' he thought. Through his slight disappointment, though, he couldn't deny that he was happy to have been invited into Vexen's home.

"Or, would you like some wine?" Vexen asked, noticing the disappointment on the lovely woman’s face.

"Thank you," said Marluxia gratefully. While he wasn't exactly an alcoholic, he never wanted to be at home without some form of alcohol in his system. It made his roommate so much easier to bear. Besides, they got along better when he was drunk because he was more likely to let her do stupid things like buy him obnoxiously pink umbrellas and program his ringtone to embarrassingly gay songs. Then Marluxia realised he'd never put down his trench coat or the umbrella in question. He did so now, folding the coat and placing it and the umbrella neatly by the door, then taking a seat.

Vexen smiled. "I have a few bottles, they're over here... it's a built in wine rack to the breakfast bar." He said softly, on the left side... I'll let you choose." He whispered.

Marluxia rose and glided over to the wine rack. His fingers skimmed the bottles till he picked out one at random. He turned slowly, careful not to drop it. "Where do you keep your wine glasses?" he asked.

Vexen moved over to a cupboard above the sink. "Just here." He replied softly and pulled out two glasses. "So what’s this Larxene women gonna say when you go back to your flat/room thing?" He asked and took a seat on a plush light blue couch.

"I don't know, and I'd rather be completely inebriated when I find out," Marluxia said, sitting next to Vexen and daringly putting his head on 'her' shoulder.

2:00 p.m.

SIGYN

((I'm going to have to go soon to eat and family time and stuff, but I will most likely be back, either in a few hours or tomorrow.))

VEXIE

( okay )

SIGYN

(But I'd be happy to finish this then as well. I have everything saved on my compy 😀)

VEXIE

( Hm? I save rp's anyways )

SIGYN

(I'm in the habit of saving all my convos)

VEXIE

( so am I, I hope you come back today *hugs* )

SIGYN

(*hugs* You're awesome 😀 I'm getting my guy to check out your work. Also, he says our RP is really good. I've been C&Ping it.

VEXIE

( XDDD Thanks )

SIGYN

(Cakies, gots to go now. I'll send you a message when I come back, and if you happen to be offline, well then we'll just play tag.

VEXIE

( I'll be on )

SIGYN

(3:59 p.m.) Back!

(4:17 p.m.) *pokity*

VEXIE

(4:39 p.m.) ( Ohhh sorrys, we went out *hugs* )

SIGYN

(Ish totally okay. Hi)

VEXIE

( hello 😀 )

Vexen poured Marluxia a glass of red wine and himself, deciding to snuggle down with his nice found friend... or soon to be more.

VEXIE

( I still think they should find out when one of them is like getting dressed or having a shower XDDD )

SIGYN

(So no lime?)

VEXIE

( no lime? )

SIGYN

(Censored lemon. Lemon being an explicit sex scene and lime being an implied one)

VEXIE

( of course sex, XDDDD I can handle that *flaps hand* But it'd be like 'You've got no boobs... you've got a penis? Wait, does that make us gay or lesbian? XDDDDDD )

( Kinky stuff is juicy )

SIGYN

(Oh, I thought you meant they wouldn't find out during the sex scene. Okay then!)

Marluxia sipped his wine appreciatively. He was no connoisseur, but he did enjoy this wine. Suddenly he laughed aloud, remembering a story he'd read last week. The Cask of Amontillado, about how a man's obsession with wine had ultimately led to his downfall.

"What’s so funny?" Vexen asked blinking and turned the television, but left it on mute so they could talk freely.

VEXIE

( It'd be funny if Larxene realized Vexen was man, the same way Xigbar knows Marluxia is a man 😆 )

"Oh... I was just thinking about a story I'd read about a man who considered himself an expert in wines. His friend had a vendetta against him for some reason, and used his love of wine to lure him to the basement, where he buried him alive. Forgive me, but it struck me as amusing." Marluxia drained his glass and stretched out, laying his head in Vexen's lap, his head pleasantly fuzzy.

"I've heard of that story too, it's a good way of luring someone in, use what they love against them." Vexen said softly, and gently ran his fingers through Marluxia's hair.

VEXIE

( I'm guessing they'll have a hot make-outs before Marluxia's goes? )

SIGYN

(I generally don't plan stories that well 😆 I just do whatever comes to mind._)

VEXIE

( Sounds like me when I'm writing fics 😆 )

Marluxia closed his eyes and smiled. This felt good. He nuzzled Vexen's leg lightly, blushing, wondering if it was appropriate. They'd only just met, and yet... some part of him felt as though he'd known Vexen for years.

5:00 p.m.

"You a light drinker, Marluxia?" Vexen asked softly, running his fingers through what he thought was a young women's hair.

"Not at all," said Marluxia. "Usually I take much harder drinks than this, but then, I'm usually not so relaxed when I drink."

Vexen smiled and snuggled down with the pinkette. "It took me a while to get drunk, but I just drink wine." He replied softly.

"I'll drink anything," Marluxia confided. "Tequila, amaretto, whiskey, gin. I have a theory that one almost has to be an alcoholic to put up with Larxene Billingsworth.

Vexen smiled and laughed a little. "I wonder how she'd react if she met me." Vexen thought, although shook his head some.

Marluxia thought the laugh sounded bemused and wondered if Vexen thought he was an alcoholic. Well, as long as the beauty let him rest here.... He stretched again, curling up into a happy little ball. "I feel so relaxed with you, Vexen," Marluxia said slowly, taking care not to slur his words.

"So do I Marluxia." Vexen replied, stroking Marluxia's forehead. He felt that he could relax with Marluxia, and she was perfect.

Marluxia beamed. This intelligent, charming creature felt relaxed with him? Now might be the time to make a move. Being careful not to upset Vexen's hand, Marluxia stretched up and balanced carefully on his knees. His coordination was usually pretty good, but he was a little self-conscious with Vexen here. Straightening up, he placed a gentle kiss on Vexen's slender lips.

The blonde's eyes lidded a little and he wrapped his arm around the pinkette and he put his glass on the coffee table, allowing his other arm to wrap around Marluxia.

Marluxia's eyes started open. Vexen was hugging him! He usually wasn't one to get excited over such things, but then, it'd been awhile since he'd actually opened up and let a woman into his life. And yet here they were, just barely met, and they were making out on her couch. Marluxia decided to take his late mother's advice and seize the day, putting one leg on either side of Vexen's, partly to steady himself and partly for the sensual feeling. He kissed Vexen, more deeply, more passionately, bringing his arms up around the blonde's neck.

Vexen gasped and looked up at Marluxia and jumped a little when he heard a knock at the door and he couldn't help but whine a little, wondering who it was.

VEXIE

( Larxene, dun-dun-dun XDDD )

Marluxia slid off Vexen's lap with mingled gratitude and disappointment. Gratitude because he didn't want to get too... excited... with someone he'd just met, and disappointment because this was the first time since freshman year he'd actually kissed a girl.

SIGYN

(By the way, at the hour, I'm going to have to go get some sleep so I can get up for school tomorrow.)

(So we've still got half an hour left 😆)

VEXIE

( okay sweetie *hugs* )

Vexen went to answer the door to find a blonde women he'd never met on the other side. "Can I help you?" He asked quietly, his face a little red.

VEXIE

( Can you be Larxene? Seeing as she’s Marluxia's flat mate )

Larxene Billingsworth smiled sweetly-- a little too sweetly. "Just came to borrow your sugar," she said in a saccharin tone matching her dangerous smile. "My roommate hasn't come home yet, so I though Marluxia might have gotten drunk again and come home to the wrong room by mistake."

Marluxia gritted his teeth. Not her! Not now, for gods' sakes!

"I'm here," he said quietly, restraining himself from taking a good swing at his roommate with the stupid pink umbrella she'd bought him the last time he'd gotten hammered. "And I told you to get whatever you need somewhere else. Goodnight, Larxene."

SIGYN

(Kind of waiting on Vexen's reaction)

VEXIE

( sorry )

SIGYN

(Ish okay)

Vexen blinked and stroked Marluxia's arm. "You can borrow Marluxia, I need to take a shower." Vexen replied softly, and blushed some more.

Marluxia looked at Vexen with mutinous eyes. Damn women and their female solidarity!

"Make it a cold one, sweetie," said Larxene in that annoying sugary voice of hers.

"What exactly do you want, Larxene?" asked Marluxia, in as neutral a tone as he could manage.

"I'm out of batteries," she murmured, putting her arm on Marluxia's waist in a way she must have thought was sensual. "I thought you could help me out."

"Well, I left you some money. Why not just go out and buy some?"

Larxene laughed. "Is it possible for someone to be as naive as you?" she asked.

"I don't do cold showers, I do hot steamy showers with vanilla essence, you can come back round Marluxia and we can watch a movie and have some pizza?" Vexen suggested, frowning a little at Larxene.

Marluxia turned his head toward Vexen. Was she trying to turn him on? Did she even think she needed to try? "This won't take long," he promised.

Vexen nodded and smiled at Marluxia. "It's alright, I need to wash my hair, the smell of coffee gets annoying."

Marluxia took Larxene by the elbow and went into the hall with her. "Why bother me for batteries, of all th-- Oh, sweet laburnum." With a start, Marluxia realised what Larxene must have meant. "Absolutely not!" he snarled.

"So you are gay! I knew it!" Larxene exclaimed triumphantly.

"Why don't you yell a little louder? I don't think Zexion in 1C heard you."

"Oh, he's perfect for you," chattered Larxene, ignoring Marluxia's outburst.

"What do you mean, 'he'?" Marluxia was confused.

"Duh, your little friend in the steamy vanilla shower, of course. God, you're naive."

"What the hell are you talking about? That beautiful woman?"

"If you think he's a woman, you need glasses in a big way."

Vexen stripped and got into the hot shower once he'd lit some vanilla and gasped softly at the hot shower.

"You don't believe that your sexy vixen--"

"Vexen," Marluxia corrected automatically.

"--is a man?"

"No, I don't. Now please. Leave. Find someone else to power your vibrator."

"He's taking a shower. Why don't you see for yourself?"

Marluxia snapped. "Leave! Now!" He went back inside and slammed the door in his roommate's face.

Vexen put strawberry shampoo in his hair, rubbing it in before washing it out.

Sighing wearily, Marluxia made his way to Vexen's bathroom, following the sound of the showerhead. "I am so sorry about her," he apologised as he got to the door. "May I come in? Perhaps help you wash your back?" He flushed slightly at his own boldness, but he couldn't help himself. The one glass of wine, plus Larxene's obnoxiousness, had loosened his inhibitions.

Vexen blushed from in the shower. "S-Sure, if that’s what you wish to do." He replied softly, and put the conditioner in his hair, rubbing it in.

Marluxia put his hand on the knob, turned quietly, and let himself in. He didn't take off his clothes; the humidity didn't bother him very much. At least the air was moist. He slipped off his shoes and walked to the shower in stocking feet, drew back the curtain, and...

*GASP*

He backed away slowly, blue eyes wide, a hand over his mouth. "I... don't believe it."

Vexen blinked looking at Marluxia, his head cocked a little to the side. "Don't believe what?"

Yayyyyy!

I finally finished Charlatans. Characters are loosely based on real life people. In case anyone wanted to know... it's about a girl who goes to New York to reinvent herself and be with the boy she thinks is her true love, despite his hatred of her and despite the fact that she's engaged to someone else. With the help of her gay model friend Adrian, she becomes a singing sensation and manages to catch the eye of her beloved. Problem is, it's under a new identity, and if he or his friends figured out who she was, all hell would break loose. Oh, and as an added twist, the guy's best friends are Adrian's cousin and her ex-girlfriend from college. Oh yeah, and her sister pulled a bunch of shit in New York before she came, so after she's inevitably revealed, she's stuck cleaning up not only her own mess but her sister's as well.

Characters
Adrian Bolynski, best friend of Graegori Craven. Blonde, green-eyed, male model, Graegori's agent, often mistaken for female. Keeps his hair back in a ponytail. Despite the fact that he's perceivedly gay, women seem to hit on him all the time.

Leyton-Star: Mysterious computer repairman and the reason Graegori moved to New York. Green eyes, brown hair, and a penchant for cherry spritzers.

(He's actually MUCH better developed than that tiny little summary, but I don't want to confuse people too much...)

Jillian Valteuil
Alter ego of protagonist Graegori Craven in my series, Charlatans. Good looks aside, Jillian is everything you DON'T want in a girlfriend. What happens when she is visited by some ghosts from her past? How long can she play the affluent songstress before her true identity is discovered? Hazel eyes, brown hair, and a penchant for gowns and chocolates. Named after the song Jillian by Within Temptation. (Before I forget, Adrian was also named after a song: Adrian by Jewel)

So yeah, my protagonist and antagonist are the same person. Woo.

(Actually, the TRUE antagonist is her older sister, but Jillian's role is more central to the story itself.)

Quiet, mousy Genevieve is committed to living her life as a woman of virtue. But she's in for a nasty surprise when she goes to visit her friend Leyton in New York and in so doing meets the one dark spot from her past.

Note: Not all of the plot is actually mentioned in the story. It's implied.

For those of you who actually want to see the story, it's here.

Being Accepted Minus Self-Censorship

I was reading an outdated blog recently, and the blogger, who shall remain nameless, was talking about how their friends' parents didn't like them because of their chosen fashion style and genre of reading material. So here's my response:

From the time I was 9 till the time I was 16, I wore nothing but black and gray, cultivated my pale, hopped from shadow to shadow to avoid sunlight, cut my nails in sharp triangles, and brought clear, unmarked bottles of V8 to school. When people asked what I was drinking, I glowered at them and asked what it LOOKED like I was drinking. (Blood, naturally.) I enhanced my slight widow's peak with mascara and wore velvet gowns to school till I was like 14 or 15, and then I switched to black leather. I wore long capes and robes that sometimes tripped me during athletic activities. By the time I was 12, I'd devoured Leonard Wolf's annotated version of Dracula, seen the 1931 and the Francis Ford Coppola movies, and read a biography on Bela Lugosi by Arthur Lennig several times over. I even submitted an essay on the dead person whom I'd most like to contact, using that biography as a source. (The person was Lugosi, not Dracula.) My dad used to tell me if I studied the Bible as hard as I studied my vampire books, I'd have it memorised. Not to blaspheme, but it simply wasn't in my scope of interest. The books called to me, drew me to them, and I heeded the call.

I wasn't STUDYING, per se, and I didn't read them because I thought they were romantic. They were a part of me, of who I was, and my innate bullshit detector allowed me to see the flaws in the mythology. It was fun having something about which to be bitter, and being a vampire rights activist worked for me. Did my schoolmates and their parents think I was a freak? Absolutely. Did it stop me? Absolutely not, and you know why? Because I just looked out for Number One. My best friend was #21197206359324, the magical little piece of plastic that let me read-- no, absorb-- what I wanted to my heart's content. I didn't care what anyone thought about me, and if people were willing to let their parents get in the way of our friendship, that was their tough cookies because they were the ones missing out.

And it's the same with you. If your friends are going to let themselves be completely and totally whipped by their parents, aren't driven enough to find ways to communicate with you, then they're not really good friends at all, and there's no sense in wasting your love. Heartless? Maybe, but practical, and it'll keep you from getting hurt in the long run.

Plus, you know, I was absolutely gorgeous back then. People envied my hair and vicious confidence, and the way I never needed anybody but myself. They were also scared shitless of my violent temper, unpredictable deviance, and wrathful nature. Eventually, the school made me stop talking about vampire-affiliated stuff because I was scaring the little pussies in my class, but if I'd known exactly how retarded they were, I could have found loopholes. For instance, they all thought Swan Lake was "the Dracula theme song." Yeah, before it was used by Carl Laemmle Jr. in the 1931 production of Dracula, it was a well-known classical piece by Tchaikovsky. Cultural deprivation much? And once when I went back to visit, I wore a pendant that was a pretty famous vampiric symbol, and the staff just said, "Wow, that's a pretty necklace!" Yeah. Shiny. And they had no bloody clue what it was about. I'd led the Bloodsuckers Aren't Terrorists Society (BATS) and printed out my own pins. I'd banged the hottest guy in school and used him as a guinea pig for my childish vengeance methods. I got a rep as the freakiest girl in school. And until the staff tried to censor me, I was having the time of my life.

Then around the time they took away my First Amendment rights, someone else came to live with me, in my body. I think she pretty much let them know what she thought of them all when she stood up and shouted "Sig Heil!" to the whole class. She took over when I got too angry to control myself. I blacked out, she beat people up, and I bullshitted my way through the essays and apologies. There are times being a monologue queen comes in handy, and even though I was a little bitter about it then, we made a great team. I had maybe a couple close friends who knew who she was and everything, and it was all fine and dandy till she decided to help me get back at one of my exes for siccing her mom on me.

See, I believe in fighting your own battles. It's nice to have people stand up for you, but you really shouldn't get parents involved in a fight between people in a different generation. Parents are peripheral, from my experience, and there's no way they can fully understand everything that's going on in your life from your perspective. So my girlfriend at the time sicced her mom on me, and I dumped her for it, and then she said she was going to dump me anyway for not listening to what her mom had to say. (There are MANY different versions of this breakup, and the ones told by me are all true. It was VERY complicated.)

So then Desmoda decided to hit Marie where it hurt, and yeah, I'd say she did a pretty good job. Don't get me wrong. I take full responsibility for my actions. Like, it was my choice to send emails supporting the stuff Desmoda had sent and goading Marie toward the conclusion that I was under a powerful curse that had just been reactivated (by Desmoda) and that I'd die if she didn't sleep with me. And it was my choice to log on under Desmoda's name and goad her even further. But it was originally Desmoda's idea. Like I said, we made a great team.

Then I get an email from Marie saying the following:
It's over. I don't believe in the curse, Desmoda, Celestia, or any of that. I don't want to go trick-or-treating with you or go over to your house. I already have a new costume. Would you like me to mail the bathrobe back to you? I'd need your new mailing address.

I know that you're never going to forgive me for this, and you'll probably hate me for the rest of your days. I hope that Ass-Man can make you happy where I couldn't. You're no longer part of my life.

Harsh, right? The thing was, I forgave her, despite the fact that I was really hurt by her choosing to solve her problems through avoidance rather than, you know, discussing them. I can understand why she felt she couldn't trust me, and I was about ready to kill myself and Desmoda. I almost did. I think that was my first serious suicide attempt. But, she never forgave ME for it. It's been over three years, and she still hates me for that stupid, childish prank. And it's all my fault. I could have said no. I could have said I didn't want to make things worse than they were, but I had to have my vengeance. I had to fuck things up beyond repair, and I'll be paying for it all my life. She hoped that I would hate her and that I would never forgive her, so that she wouldn't have to deal with me anymore, because she knew that she could never forgive me.

I have known so many people who censor themselves in ways both little and big. Some of them hide who they are because they're afraid their friends or friends' parents won't like them. Some of them pretend to be somebody else. Some of them hide behind alternate personalities, if they have them, or create personas behind which to hide, and there is nothing sadder or uglier that you can do to yourself. Yes, you should take pride in your self-presentation, but not if it means pretending to be something that you're not. Taking pride in yourself means not misrepresenting yourself in any way, and making sure that you are at your best. Not hiding behind a mask of genteelness and glamour because you're afraid you have nothing to offer. Believe me, you do, and today's technology makes just about anything possible.

Some people are going to hate you for who you are, but that's because deep down, they believe their life sucks and that they are pathetic nobodies. It doesn't matter how confident they act or how cool they pretend to be. It is an act, and it is a lie, and the mask will eventually fall off. Do you HONESTLY care what a self-loathing pathetic nobody thinks about you? I didn't think so.

Some people are going to hate you for who you are, but they'll hate you more for pretending to be something that you're not. That's what EBC tried to do. They tried to make us all into Stepford children, and many of us alumni have bitter memories of that school for censoring us. I understand the need to restrain us from violence or harmful acts, but there's no harm in having a little fun and trying to figure out who you really are. If that means wearing strange clothes and talking with an unusual cadence, so be it, if that's who you feel you are. Playing Swan Lake on the piano is not harmful to anybody, and neither is wearing black makeup or quoting a famous Thomas Hood poem. People earn a lot of money doing those things, and Becoming Oneself is an art form. Art should not be censored, especially not for the sake of conformity.

Recently, I started writing a screenplay. The script was based on a series of chats that took place between myself and my friends. Some of us were trying on different personae and seeing which ones fit us best, and some of us were just screwing around for the hell of it. Silly kid stuff. Well, when I was typing it up, I couldn't help but notice how wooden some of them were, how generic, how uncomfortable the writers had seemed in their new roles. It was repetitive, it didn't flow, important plot points went ignored, questions unanswered, characters were brought in and then unspokenly tossed out... It was a mess of illogic! Aesthetically speaking, a complete and utter disaster! The writers were trying too hard to force themselves into roles that didn't fit their personalities, and they were doing it for a prolonged period of time. They got frustrated with themselves and each other, and half of them fabricated as many distractions as possible as a smoke screen for the fact that they just didn't know what they were doing anymore. The other half got paranoid and assumed there was some evil conspiratorial ploy at work... and these wonderful friends almost ended up cutthroat enemies!

Some of them decided to take a break from it, but the others got bored, impatient, and hungry for more drama, and it was just a bad turn all around. Sure, a little drama's great when you're writing, but not when it bleeds over into your real life that much. We expressed a yearning for things to go back to when we first started out, when we were just goofing around and writing stuff because we could, instead of trying to make some big Production out of it. Eventually, we all had to take a break and figure out who the hell we were, because the fun had gone out of trying on the new roles and now we were stuck with all the wrong sizes. When we start up again, if we start up again, hopefully everyone will have learned their lessons, and it'll be a better show all 'round. We might even hire some actors and make a film out of it. But none of that can happen until we figure out who we are and stop trying to play roles that don't suit us, and allow each other to let go of the roles they no longer want or need.

Because, let's face it, dysfunction makes for terrible showmanship.

In conclusion, you only have this one life, unless you believe in reincarnation, and you might not even come back as another person! So get out there and live it, and don't let what anybody else says get you down! Some people will hate you, but if you are your true self, you'll gain many more admirers than haters. Never let your background or past mistakes dictate your future. And above all, remember that you'll always have at least one supporter in your quest: sensational, libertine, fabulous me.

Good luck!

Twilight

Come on, you knew it was coming. Ever since Sam first mentioned it to me, I've been morbidly curious about the series. And after Jenna mentioned it to me-- well, for Jenna and Sam to both recommend the same book to me? That's kind of a weird thing in itself. Then I hear about it from Corri, and... well then. That's something else entirely. (While I kind of expect Jenna and Corri to have similar taste in books, I don't expect it from Jenna AND Corri AND Sam.)

Ryan didn't like it, which only fueled my curiosity further.

Well, Sam was kind enough to introduce me to the site Encyclopedia Dramatica, when he linked me to the notoriously awful fan fiction My Immortal. It's so bad that the EnDra page has "Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter" at the very top. Kehehe! Anyway, he basically dared me to read it all the way through. So I did. And then I started fooling around on EnDra. First I looked up Mary Sue, which had a curious link: "Sparkles where there shouldn't be sparkles." I was like, "What the hell? Sparkles?" So I clicked, thinking "sparkles" was some new internet term with which I was unfamiliar.

I got linked to the EnDra review for Twilight. It was just... wow. At the end of the synopsis (which has since been revised, but the point remains the same), it said, "TL;DR? See My Immortal." And I just started laughing. The review itself was just so cruel and made Twilight look so utterly horrible that now, I just had to read it.

So, I did the stupid thing: I went to WalMart and bought both Twilight and New Moon, intending to return after reading. Here's the stupid part (even dumber than the fact that I could have just gotten it on e-book): I have this long habit of throwing away receipts. Um. Yeah. I kind of did that.

Anyway--and I promise this is relevant--I have a concert to go to tonight. The tickets are for a mosh pit, so I'll have to be bright-and-shiny all day and night (I have to get up early to get to the train station on time). I went to bed at like 8:00 after deliberately over-feeding myself, hoping I'd fall into an all-night food coma. Not so. My usual habit is to go to bed at like three in the morning and get up sometime around noon or later. Me, asleep at midnight? It's not happening. I did get to sleep sometime around 8:30, but then I woke up at exactly midnight to use the -- er, to get a drink-- and I've been up since then. I was pacing restlessly in my mind: What to do, what to do? I can't sleep... So I downed half a can of Vienna sausages and a package of Hostess Zingers, hoping to put myself in a food coma again. Ha. Not happening.

Then, despite all my perfectly good library books, which are due sometime next week, I got the urge to start reading Twilight. Wow. See what nocturnalism and junk food will do to a perfectly good mind? Or maybe it's the fact that I finally gave in to Internet Society's urges and started role-playing...

So I went out into the living room and picked up the book, brand spanking new paperback on my bookshelf, not rumpled and dog-eared somewhere on my bedroom floor like most of my books. I'm on page 9 so far, and I've been sort of "talking" to the book by annotating it, like a companion. Yes. I'm that lonely. Bella doesn't seem like a total dipshit so far, but I guess that only comes in when she falls in love with Edward... (Now she's only half-a-dipshit. I mean, voluntarily moving to a town she hates and then complaining about it? Really?)

Illybrius => Orion | Sat, Jan 10, 2009 at 5:51 p.m. (one line)

Illybrius: nuzzles and gives Master Ori a hello kiss
