Freya Hew had been a very devote member of the Coven of the Church of Night. But just this once, she had wished she wasn't as devote as she had been. For she was set to marry Faustus Blackwood, the High Priest of her Coven; and it was said, that if one was devote in their devotions the Dark Lord would visit them on the night before their wedding. It was considered to be a great honor, but Freya found herself hoping, just this once, the Dark Lord wouldn't show.
She had never
been good around people, considering her upbringing. Having caught the High
Priest's eye had been a complete accident. Falling in love with him had been a
miracle, and having him love her in return and have the Dark Lord bless their
union was beyond all she could ever hope for. But Faustus had been the ONLY one
to ever touch her that was not in anger, and so she was very loyal to him in
all things and the idea of the Dark Lord visiting her the night before they
said their vows, almost made her ill.
But she had
prepared for such a thing and now stood, pacing in her rooms set aside for
tonight within the Academy. She was frightened, and nervous and it showed. Just
as she finished pacing a length by her bed, the atmosphere of the entire room
changed and she froze. Facing her bed, she did not see the Dark Lord as he
slipped from the fire that burned to heat her room, but she saw his shadow and
knelt slowly to the floor. Shivering in both fear and nerves as he approached.
She could hear his cloven hooves on the solid wood floor, growing closer and
closer. Her eyes slid closed as a clawed hand came to rest on her shoulder as a
rumbling purr filled the room as HE came to stand just behind her. The Dark
Lord, had come!
"Freya
Hew.." HIS voice was like silk, and it made her tremble again, and flinch
slightly at hearing it. She felt the mood instantly shift as HE took in her
stance from where she knelt. "Rise!" HE hissed at her as HE pulled
back his hand.
She did as
bid and turned to look upon HIM, trying not to show how terribly afraid, for
the first time, of him she was. Would HE 'bless' her? Make her ready for her
husband? So many questions filtered through her mind. "My Lord..."
She nodded as she softly spoke. "I am honored, by your presence."
"And
yet, you flinch from my touch!" His goat-like ears twisted atop his head,
catching the sound of her voice.
"Forgive
me, Lord." She said just as softly in return.
"Would
you feel better if I took on a more...humane appearance?" HE asked as HE
shifted before her eyes to HIS human form. True, this form was more pleasing,
but....it wasn't Faustus. HE seemed to sense this and looked down at her with
haughty disdain. "You do realize that I have favored you, far more then I
should? You were supposed to be MINE, Freya Hew. And yet, I allowed and blessed
your union with my most favored High Priest. You reward my efforts with fear
and condemnation?! SIT!" HE pointed to the bed, with which she quickly
moved to do as bid.
Trying not to
shiver, as HE drew closer to sit beside her, she looked up and met his very
human eyes. "All I have done, and you still fear me? On this night of all
nights?" HIS voice was strangely more softer. "Do not worry, Hew. I
have not come to 'bless' you as you think." HE chuckled darkly and leaned
back upon the bed, and motioned for her to come join him.
When she had
done as bid and was all but cuddled up at HIS side, HE began to talk. "You
are marrying one of the most powerful of my High Priests." HE smirked down
at her as he moved a lock of hair out of her face. "As such, there are
things you must know....that will not be 'rewarded'." HE laughed as Freya
blushed deeply, but continued to tell her of the things she would need to know
about being the wife of a powerful man. The position it would bring. The power
she, herself, could learn.
HE talked
long into the night, before HE finished. "Learn well, young Hew, soon to
be Lady Blackwood. For your paths are now entwined. Protect him, as he protects
you and nothing can touch you both." HE chuckled as HE leaned over and
kissed her forehead, and it tingled where HIS lips touched her skin. Standing,
HE took her hand, and helped her back to her feet as HE stared down at her. "Be
brave, little fire nymph. I will see you at your wedding. Maybe you be happy
upon your path, for I already bless your way." HE chuckled, and stepping
back into the fire, which suddenly flared to life, he disappeared; and Freya
was left alone, breathing hard. Had...had that really just happened?
Freya's... well, they weren't exactly
her friends, but they did see each other every day... were interested to see
what she was like in her private life, and so had had Luci teleport them to the
Academy. But they heard voices coming from inside her bedroom, so they remained
in the hall and listened. Luci, Nathaniel, and Sebastian were bold enough to
peek in.
"So, that's her Dark Lord,"
Sebastian whispered. "Pompous, twitchy git, isn't he?"
Luci nodded his agreement against the
top of his spouse's head. "D'you know, I'd thought another Me might be
more... fun," he said. "This fellow takes himself far too
seriously."
"I didn't know Sa-- uh...
well," Nathaniel stumbled a bit awkwardly. "He's a furry?"
Trent stifled a snicker. "Wait,
let me see," he whispered, poking his head in under Nate's arm. "Oh
my gosh..."
"Did he just say Freya was
supposed to be his?" Nate asked rhetorically.
"Well, like you said with Luci
and me, they're well matched," said Sebastian, a touch mean-spiritedly.
"Ooh, he just told her to sit
like the 🐕 she is," Nathaniel
snickered gleefully.
"Wait, bless her with
what?" Trent asked, confused. Sebastian ruffled his hair affectionately
instead of answering.
"Aww, they look so cozy together,"
crooned Nathaniel, to sniggers from the other boys.
"Little fire nymph?"
Sebastian echoed, still whispering. "Gag me with a spoon."
"Gag you with his 'blessing,'
you mean," said Nate, earning a shoulder punch from Bash and a stifled
laugh from Trent, who seemed to have caught the joke this time.
"What's all this, then?"
asked an unpleasantly familiar voice. "What-- are all of *you* lot doing
here?!" demanded Faustus Blackwood from just behind them.
The boys whirled around almost as
one. Nate looked like he'd been caught with his hand in the keto cookie jar,
but Trent and Luci smiled and waved at him, and Bash looked extremely amused.
Faustus relaxed somewhat. "Ah,
Luci, my friend," he said, striding forward, taking one hand and clapping
his back with the other in a casual, if manly, greeting. Then he furrowed his
brow. "Why have you all come to spy on my bride?"
Trent shrugged. "It seemed like
a good idea at the time," he said. "Luci, are you going to go back
and get the others, or...?"
"I thought Xander was bringing
them," said Luci, scratching the back of his head.
Xander popped in a few seconds after
Luci spoke, bringing with him Rebecca, Cat, Helena, and George. "Here I
am! What did I miss!" He said a little to eagerly, before he noted Faustus
standing there. "Ohhhh...Hi." He cleared his throat a bit, awkwardly.
George looked around and then locked
eyes with Nate and went to him. "Hey love. What's going on? Did it
happen!" See's Faustus standing nearby and blushes.
Cat smirked and shook her head.
"You guys are awful!" She teased.
Then why did you come?" Rebecca
teased with a giggle. "If we are so awful."
"Ohhhhh....you know seeing all
this, and seeing what happened, I can't keep away." She smirked. "Did
we miss the show?"
"Do you want to tell them, or
shou--" Trent started, but Sebastian interrupted him.
"Their realm's Satan is a FURRY,
GUYS! He's a giant fucking GOAT MAN!"
"Goatest of All Time,"
Nathaniel guffawed, doubling over in laughter. "And-- get this--
apparently he wanted Freya for himself, but MAGNANIMOUSLY let her go to
Blackwood!"
"My condolences, by the
way," said Luci dryly.
Rebecca's eyes furrowed slightly as
she smirked. "A goat-man? Really? Eww! Imagine doing that." She
blushed with a chuckle. "Sorry....but...man!"
"He LET her go to Blackwood?
Like she's some sort of object? Is that how your Dark Lord sees you all?"
Cat tilts her head.
Xander only smirked. "This is
turning out to be an interesting evening. If we missed one show, lets go find
more entertainment elsewhere!"
George chuckled softly. "This
world is odd, I must say. It even feels different."
Trent made a face at his fiancée.
"No, thank you," he said.
"I let Trent go to
Rebecca," Sebastian pointed out to Cat. "Well, sort of. It's not like
he showed up on his 45th birthday with her covered in ribbon and a big bow on
her tits."
"Gross," Nathaniel
muttered.
"Well, then," said Luci.
"Perhaps we gentlemen shall head to Dorian's Gray Room, and you ladies can
keep Freya company for this... impromptu bachelor/bachelorette party."
