 I was thought to be dead, but this was not so. I have the duty to care for my dear Doriane, with the help of my new husband, Sharuka (Hatman). At first I was concerned that the retroactively reincarnated ex-demon may still have feelings for Evryn, or failing that, her sister Penryn, but this is not the case. He is a good husband and under his influence, Doriane is growing again.

 I should point out that it ought to be obvious, but I've decided Brandy's not the one for me. I feel as though I owe the Grim Reaper something for the inconvenience, though. Oleander offered herself as a trade and he took it. They're drawing up a contract as I write.

After enduring numerous jokes at Brandy's expense, I took a good look around. Everyone else seems happy. They didn't have a rosy, confusing fog or a consistently weak body. Rosemary in particularly seemed more content than me. When they all read the messages I kept from Brandy....

It was Frey who saved me. It wasn't anything he said. I'm just a random gal to him. it was his presence that was comforting. He was just there. I've talked to him some and he just reminds me of every dream of romance I've ever had. I really like him, and he's not a phony like Brandy was. He's genuine.

 3-something in the a.m.

Requiem D'Arcy. Isn't it a preppy name? Then again, so are Viktoria Emerson and Isadorre Hayes. Not that our names matter. We just have to align who we are now with who we're meant to be. Too many of us are saccharine and innocent. Envi has a bit of a bite, but she needs to be pleasant and just go with the flow. Requiem just needs to be sociable.

Appearance: Petite and curvy with long blonde hair. Tiny little voice with Basildon accent. Most comfortable in floaty clothes and sandals.

Strengths: Good with science, booksmart, good at keeping quiet when she needs to, good at cleaning and organizing, can fit in with almost any crowd.

Weaknesses: Overbearing older sister, morally dubious connections, comes off as naïve.

Other: can switch quickly and easily between being the good little girl and shameless bitch with a sugary voice who can and will exploit anyone who's told she must. Very mild-mannered and obedient-seeming. Often seems clueless and in need of direction.

 I think I may be falling in love with Brandy. This is bound to end badly. I'm meant to be showing her that not everyone is as hateful as the Lathories and to show one of her personas some love, loyalty-- the romantic or sexual kind of loyalty--and affection.

No promises. No demands.

It wouldn't do to fall in love with the woman herself. She's perfectly lovely, but I don't trust myself not to hurt her if this becomes more than just an experiment.
