Venue:
Lucifer strode into the venue.
"Absolutely perfect," he complimented Cat. "Thank you. Now…
Shall we get started?"
"Thank you, Luci! Yes, since you are
the Groom, go stand at the alter and get your groomsmen ready!" She
giggled and went to check on Bash, to see if he needed any last minuet touches.
Lucifer nodded and did so. "Pity we
didn't have time for a rehearsal dinner," he said, mostly to himself,
"but then, it was a bit of a rush, wasn't it? No matter…"
He hadn't invited a lot of guests, but he
was livestreaming the entire affair to Lux's official Facebook page. That way,
the whole world could participate, or so went his thinking.
He took his place at the altar and waited.
Rebecca and Freya and George and Xander had
trickled in slowly to take in the view! Everything looked simply stunning!
"Wow! Cat really outdid herself."
Rebecca smiled as she walked towards their seats.
"Yea she did…look at this place, and
she only had 4 days to do it!" George enthused.
"This, is actually amazing."
Xander's voice was soft, but impressed.
"I can't believe she did this. All in
four days. It's wonderful!" Freya smiled, glancing around as she went to
join the others in taking a seat so the wedding could begin.
—
Sebastian had had a full beauty treatment
done earlier that day and was wearing similar makeup to what he had worn at his
drag debut/bachelor party last night: subtle, delicate, emphasizing his soft,
pretty features. He also wore the same climbing-ivy heels and pantyhose, which
had quickly become his favorite accessories, and even his half-wig from last
night. Tight sandy blond waves cascaded down his shoulders, and he looked every
bit the innocent and beautiful bride.
He turned as he heard Cat knock. "Yes,
Cat?" he asked, his voice uncharacteristically demure and soft.
Cat entered with a smile and was floored as
to how beautiful Bash looked in that wedding dress. Everything was…perfect!
"I was just checking to see if you needed any help with anything."
She said softly as she entered the room. "Everyone is setting up, and we
are ready to begin if you are." Her smile brightened as she took just took
Bash in. "You look really beautiful…." She said almost shyly.
"Thank you," said Sebastian,
casting his gaze down at the bouquet of jasmines he carried. "I think I'm
ready."
So saying, he arranged his veil and nodded
to Cat to cue up the orchestra. As the first strains of O Fortuna began to play
and the choir sang, the groomsmen led by Father Blackwood and the bridesmaids
led by Cat led the wedding procession. Maze had reluctantly agreed to be the
flower girl, and Xander was stuck with the role of ring bearer.
Last down the aisle were Trent and
Sebastian, arm in arm. Sebastian had asked Trent, not only to officiate the
ceremony, but also to give him away. It was a little bit awkward, considering
their history, but it wasn't as though Sebastian had a whole lot of other
friends.
Cat had taken up her place as the wedding
party made its way down the aisle. Standing behind Bash, she smiled as she
watched the proceedings. It really was a beautiful ceremony and Trent did a
very good job officiating.
When they reached the altar, Trent took his
place at the podium and said: "Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today
for the celebration of a marriage that technically already happened… earlier
this week. Thank you so much for coming to celebrate. The grooms will now speak
their vows."
Lucifer nodded. "When I moved to Los
Angeles, the last thing I expected was to meet someone quite like Sebastian. I
suppose it is a bit of a cliché, the lawyer married to the devil, but in the
time we've known each other, I have come to truly care for you. You allow me to
pick you up when you fall, and you never flinched once at my devil face. In
fact, you embraced my devil side as willingly as my angel side. You have my
heart for the rest of eternity, should you want it."
For a moment, Sebastian was too choked up
to speak. Finally, he said, "Thank you. You have been kinder to me than…
than I probably deserve. When everyone else is lining up to condemn me, you
reach out and offer me your hand, and most recently, you offered me your hand
in marriage. It is a debt I will never be able to repay you but thank you for
accepting me and for showing me that I don't have to be alone in this world. Oh—
I'm going to ruin my makeup…" For he had begun to cry.
Trent waited a moment, then nodded and
said, "Well then, with the power vested in me by the State of California,
I now pronounce you husband and wife. This is a little late in coming since
we've already had a few orgies together, but Lucifer, you may kiss the
bride."
When it came to the vows, Cat nearly cried
herself as she could feel the emotion voiced by each man in turn. The whole
thing was…for lack of a better word…perfect! She hoped Bash and Lucifer
remembered this day for a long time.
When Lucifer lifted Sebastian's veil to
kiss him, the emotion on the latter's face shone clear as day. It meant so, so
much to him that after what seemed like a lifetime of rejection, someone was
willing to have and to hold him, until the literal end of time. He melted into
Lucifer's passionate kiss, wrapping his arm around his new husband's strong
shoulders and pressing himself close to him. Trent looked away discreetly and
caught Rebecca's eye. He smiled secretively at her, but the meaning was clear:
'I hope our wedding is even half this beautiful.'
Rebecca caught Trent's eye and winked
lightly at him, catching his meaning exactly and she hoped for the same thing.
Once Bash and Lucifer had kissed, Cat
announced that they would move to the reception, where not only food and music
awaited, but the cake she had made for both Bash and Lucifer, and then the
Grooms cake she had made for Lucifer and his groomsmen.
They filed out and joined her, but
Sebastian and Lucifer both stopped short at the sight of the cakes.
"My goodness," Lucifer breathed.
"This is fantastic! Did you make this?"
Catherine chuckled and shook her head.
"No, but I did design them. The bakery downtown took care of it for me."
She beamed, up at the happily married couple. "I wanted to signify the
joining of you both, Light and Dark, but with something beautiful, hence the
roses…and for your Grooms cake, it's supposed to be funny, so I told them to
make a Lucifer inspired cake and this turned out perfect." She giggled
softly.
Both men pulled her into a hug. "We
love it," Sebastian murmured. "Thank you so much, Duckling, it's
perfect."
As they ate cake, danced, and chattered,
they agreed that despite most of their initial reservations, this was in fact a
wonderful wedding, and Nathaniel smugly pointed out that, just as he had said,
Lucifer and Sebastian made a damn near perfect match.
"Like I said when they eloped, one of
them is the devil himself, and the other is Sebastian Freedman."
"Morningstar," Sebastian
corrected. "I already submitted the paperwork to change my name, and the
name of my firm."
"Ah yes," said Trent.
"Morningstar and Associates, for all your defense attorney needs. I like
it, it has a good ring to it. Especially for Los Angeles."
It was a very good night, enjoyed by all
around and the food was simply to die for! Plated duck in orange sauce, fish
ala king, and a steak dish where the steak was cooked to perfection and left to
marinate in its own juices. The drinks were made by someone Cat knew and was
trying to get their name out, but the man knew his drinks and carried only the
finest in liquors and alcohol.
Rebecca, Freya, George and Xander took
turns to congratulate the married couple and talk among themselves, saying how
beautiful everything was and that Cat surly had outdone herself.
Rebecca made her way over to Trent and
Nate, with George beside her as she smiled at the three men. "This is
really something. You did such a great job, Love. They seem very happy."
She beamed, excitedly happy for both Bash and Lucifer.
"Indeed. I can't wait for ours….or
yours…" George chuckled softly as he looked at Nate and Trent both, and
nearly blushed. "But Cat did an amazing job! Maybe she should do this part
time?"
Xander looked down at Maze with a hint of a
grin, showing just the tiniest bit of fang. "Makes me wonder…." he
started, almost playfully as he watched her closely.
Freya was positively floored that this ceremony could get any better and upon walking into the reception, she had been blown away yet again. After congratulating Lucifer and Bash, she had taken a few moments to look around. Noting how beautiful everything seemed. She literally had no words….
