"I broke the lock. You were screaming.” ~ Serena to Dany
'Fuck no, no, not here again!' Dany’s
thoughts were rushing a mile an hour and he was definitely in a full panic as
he attempted to feel for a handle or something on the wooden trap door above
his head. The only light was faint streaming through the top door and he was
sure he faintly heard screaming. No, now the sounds were growing louder and he
definitely recognized that voice. SHIT!! "ANNA!!! ANNA!!!!" He
screamed moved to shove at the wooden door above trying to scream loud enough
that she'd know he was near. That he was trying to reach her. Granted that
thought was bullshit given he just couldn't get the door above to open. Then
came the sound of boots, heavy against the wooden floor and that thick Russian
accent. A threat, mixed with how sickly amusing the other found this situation.
One, two, three steps back and his foot
caught something in the darkness. He fell hard and for a moment it was like he
couldn't breathe. He was gasping for air in fact. Even as he heard the sound of
a key and the doors above opened, light so bright suddenly it was almost
blinding he felt like he was choking for air. Still, his hand shot for the gun
that lay next.to his head and he aimed nearly shooting before ...... Well that
certainly wasn't a Russian accent.
He sort of froze as things went dark for a
moment and he closed his eyes tight. The gun simply dropping as he tried to
force a few heavy raggedy breaths. Slowly reality began to fade in and he could
feel the soft sheets beneath where his head was now buried in his arm. The gun
still lay were he'd dropped it on his legs and he could hear someone else's
footsteps not but a few feet away. 'Shit!'
Slowly moving to roll over he just sort of
stared at the ceiling for a moment. "You're lucky I didn't shoot you in
the face" he finally spoke, still not sure who it was as he hadn't looked
at them fully conscious and his mind was still pulling from sleep very slowly.
"Eh, I'd get over it," Serena
said calmly as she went to sit next to him. "Night terrors?" she
asked sympathetically. "My ex used to have them. I can't exactly offer to
sleep next to you, seeing as that would be improper and all, but I could make
you some tea?"
Laying there for a moment Dany
nearly seemed to stare into almost nothingness even after she'd spoke but
finally his brow furrowed. "Probably not the best idea even if it was an
option. Trust me" He muttered a bit tiredly finally moving to push up from
the mattress. Yeah after that kind of dream no way did he even KIND of want to
go back to sleep. In fact he was about to slam a few Vyvanse to make damn sure
he was functioning for the next twenty-four hours or more at least. About all
he currently had besides basic caffeine which definitely didn't work long
enough. "What are you doing up?" He suddenly asked noting it wasn't
exactly daylight out with the fact the only real light was from the lamp he'd
left on in the far corner of the room at some point.
Serena
shrugged. "Who knows?" she replied vaguely. "What is anybody
doing anywhere? Except, you know, you, having nightmares and screaming your
head off. Luci doing whatever or whomever the hell he does when I'm not home,
which, admittedly, has been a lot. I don't blame him. Open marriage has its
perks, you know, and uh... Well. I don't even know what's going through my own
mind, let alone anyone else's. Reckoned if you were screaming like that in the
dead of night, you could use some help, or at least some company. I don't wanna
impose, of course, but I also don't wanna go home and see for myself whether
Luci's found someone to replace me already."
